Meet the Open Show Judge for Ring 1

Chris Effling is from Highmore South Dakota where he and his wife Kristi own and operate CK Cattle along with their 3 daughters, Cagney and her husband Hadley, Chesney and Kenidey. They raise Simmentals, Herefords and Charolais. They host 3 sales a year, an online show heifer sale in the fall, a commercial bred female sale in December that markets 600 commercial bred heifers, and their bull and bred heifer sale the second Saturday in February. CK cattle markets 175 bulls and 60 registered bred females annually. They have exhibited cattle at all the major shows and have bred and shown national champions in all 3 breeds. Chris has judged in Denver, Kansas City,Fort Worth, Oklahoma City, Keystone, numerous other jr nationals and jackpots of all levels. Chris has served the beef industry on many different local, state and national boards, where he currently sits on the American
 Simmental association board of trustees and the South Dakota Beef Boosters.
